Gorgeous Mountain Photos to Inspire Your Next Adventure
I am notorious for taking a lot of pictures. Like, way too many of them. But I will never regret it. Looking back at these memories help me transport myself back to those little moments in time.
They help me feel the breeze I felt, hear the birds I heard, and touch the dirt I touched. They help me smell the sweet pine sap I smelled and listen to the rushing waters in the valleys below me.
In this post, I'll be sharing photos of my favorite mountain destinations so that you can be sure to visit them on your next adventure!
From the Colorado Rockies to the Grand Tetons, these spots are all-around awe-inspiring. Grab your camera, pack your bags, and get ready to hit the road with me as we explore some of the most beautiful mountains that this country has to offer.
I hope that these photos will inspire you to get outside and create your very own memories, because at the end of the day, that’s what travel is all about. So, let’s get started.
The Colorado Rockies
The Rocky Mountains are a classic, and for good reason. These rugged mountains are home to some of the most scenic hiking trails in the world and a variety of wildlife including elk, moose, bighorn sheep, and even bears. If this spot isn’t on your bucket list yet, add it now!
Beartooth Pass
This scenic route from Red Lodge Montana down into the Wyoming part of Yellowstone National Park is a must-see. As you travel along this windy road, you’ll see snow-capped peaks, deep blue lakes, and dense forests. The pass is about 68 miles long and takes around 2-3 hours to complete. Be sure to bring your camera, because you’ll likely see some mountain goats along the way. One thing that I love about this drive is that it’s not as well-known as other scenic drives in the area, leaving room for you to pull off at every overlook without feeling rushed. Do take note, however, that this pass is often closed in the early summer due to snow and ice. But if you visit later in the summer, you’re in for a real treat!
The Grand Tetons
Looking for a rugged mountainscape? Look no further than the Grand Tetons, a natural wonder offering abundant wildlife and stunning landscapes. Our favorite place to stay is the Colter Bay Campground in Wyoming, where you can hike down to a gorgeous crystal blue lake with a pebble beach. It’s the perfect place to relax and unwind. Early morning temperatures bring about diverse wildlife, but be sure to be bear-aware! These mountains are home to grizzlies, so make sure to travel in groups and always keep bear spray handy.
Glacier National Park
While I’ve only visited Glacier once (so far), I can confirm that it’s a stunning destination. While we were there, we drove the famous “Going-to-the-Sun Road” which was nothing short of amazing. Whether you’re a seasoned hiker or just looking for a peaceful mountain drive, Glacier National Park is a spot you won’t want to miss.
I hope that these photos have ignited some adventure in your soul and that you’ll be able to visit some of these stunning destinations in the near future. Let me know in the comments which mountain you’d like to see first!
