Olive Tree People is a global holistic wellness brand that has recently caught my attention. So much so that I have actually become one of their “Waterless Beauty Consultants.”

One of OTP’s biggest selling points is that they’re “waterless.” This is because most other skincare products are mostly WATER. Yep, you’re paying big bucks for distilled water with a few drops of active ingredients. However, at OTP, they pride themselves on the use of their unique ingredient, hydroxytyrosol. Instead of pumping your skincare with distilled water, hydroxytyrosol is another active ingredient so that every part of your product is useful to you.
What in the world is HYDROXYTYROSOL?
Hydroxytyrosol is, simply put, a byproduct of olive oil creation. It is a phenolic compound, which have been shown to inhibit the enzymes that are associated with disease processes. It is one of the best antioxidants there are and has qualities such as being anti-inflammatory and antimicrobial. Like mentioned before, OTP uses this instead of distilled water (like other companies) because it truly benefits your skin. In fact, this unique molecule allows olive trees to live for up to 4,000 years.

It’s clear that Olive Tree People cares about the Earth and sustainability. They rescue old mountain olive trees by buying the land that they’re on and getting them eco-certified. The olive trees help provide oxygen as well as protect the soil from erosion, contributing to biodiversity!
