Studying.

Often the most dreaded, time-consuming part of student life. Hours of staring at confusing textbooks, too-bright computer screens, and scribbled down notes that aren’t even worth trying to decipher (but you convinced yourself earlier that you’d remember what you wrote).

Trust me, I know these things because I’ve been there. My first year of nursing school was rough, to say the least. But, I’ve learned a few things since then that I want to share with you, and hopefully, these tips and tricks will help your studying be an enjoyable part of your day!

(All of the links in this post are for cute Amazon items that I think will help boost your study motivation and help you really romanticize your schoolwork!)

Tip #1: Set up your atmosphere

Atmosphere is key. Sitting in your bed? Not going to cut it. This will only tell your brain that it’s bedtime, and you’re going to lose focus pretty fast.

Instead, set up a clean, organized space to get your mind ready to work. Light some candles, turn on some ambient lighting, find a comfortable chair, and put on some calming lo-fi music in the background. Aesthetic atmosphere = aesthetic study sesh.

Tip #2: Get some water (and coffee!)

Water to fuel your brain, coffee to fuel your soul. Seriously, having both a drink for hydration and one for indulgence? What could be better? I love cute coffee glasses for my iced coffee, and a colorful water bottle helps me remember to keep sipping. Now, caffeine might not always be the best idea (especially if it’s late at night) but you can opt for a decaf version instead! Other drink options could include tea, hot chocolate, or hot apple cider in a cute mug.

Tip #3: Set a timer

You need to set a timer to keep yourself focused. If you burn yourself out, you’ll never feel good about studying. I like to use the Pomodoro timer. This timer will give you alternating work and rest periods, and after so many sessions, it will give you a longer break. This is designed to help keep your mind fresh and ready to learn, so you can enjoy the entirety of your work time.

Tip #4: Use aesthetic study materials

This tip might be my absolute favorite. I go all-in with cute highlighters, notebooks, pens, and planners to make everything look aesthetically pleasing. Having fun, colorful materials can really inspire you to pick up your notebook and get in the mood to study! Taking cute notes will help you want to look at them more often, and having a pretty planner will help you remember to check what’s next on your list and stay on schedule.

Tip #5: Wear a comfy (but cute) outfit

Being comfortable, but also put together, is a must. When you feel messy, your brain will feel messy too. Wear a cute set, fuzzy socks, and blue light glasses for a cute and stylish study look. Before a long study session, I love to get a shower, put on some perfume, and get cozy. It truly helps to boost my productivity and my overall mood.

So, there you have it! A couple of fun tips on how to romanticize your study sessions and get the most out of them. Now, get to work (aesthetically, of course)!
